What are/were your child’s favorite things about life, activities, or classroom experiences at Westminster School?

Everyone knows each other (8th graders even know 1st graders) so there's encouragement and support even on a bad day; the teachers push us to do our best; Greek Day activities and games after learning so much about the culture and myths all year; French brunch with Mme. Peev; the new field; watching all the plays; Talent Show where it doesn't matter if you're amazing but Mrs. Schuler makes you feel confident.

As a parent, what are/were your favorite things about being a part of the Westminster community?

A small enough environment where familiar faces make us feel like we’re also a part of the dynamic, interaction across multiple grades so we can give and gain support with other families, being a part of the play hard balancing the rigor.

What is one thing you would want a prospective family to know about Westminster School?

The school’s steadfast commitment to and focus on fundamentals in elementary education is not just a mission statement. There is a method to the journey from pre K through 8th grades-developing principled individuals ready to face the world after graduation. The school’s mission is fully carried through in the classroom, curriculum, halls, and activities. The faculty emulates the values expected of the students, setting themselves as examples to the students. With distractions from the quick-evolving technology and methodologies in education, the school remains focused on fundamentals while evaluating any integration that would best benefit their students. They keep the students’ best interest, safety, and development as the central focus. Parent involvement and community is emphasized so that the students are nurtured and have a sense of community at such a critical time in their development for life long sense of belonging.
