Academic Support
Westminster School’s program balances a challenging curriculum that stimulates student growth while providing the support and guidance that makes that progress possible.

During the class period:
- Small class sizes allow teacher attention on individual student engagement and focus
- Homework is checked and reviewed every day with discussion of reasoning behind answers
- Detailed feedback provided on assessments, both through written teacher comments/corrections and in-class review of each graded quiz or test
- Classes combine teacher instruction/explanation with discussion, questions, and collaboration to enhance understanding
Daily Flex period:
- Takes place at the end of each school day
- Extra help sessions with each teacher in each subject offered once per week
- Allows time to reinforce content and practice skills under direct teacher instruction in a smaller group setting
- Students ask questions targeting specific areas of confusion
- Open to all students
- Cost included in tuition
Student Resource Department:
- Dedicated resource teachers specialize in helping students with learning challenges or new students who need to bridge gaps in knowledge/skills
- Individualized or small group assistance on a weekly basis
- Addresses foundational needs in select areas, including reading, phonics, handwriting, writing mechanics, mathematics, organization, and executive functioning
- Requires referral from the team leader and approval of administration
