A state-licensed, on-site, after-school care program (ASCP) is offered to families with children in grades Pre-K-8. The program operates under the direction of a Westminster School administrator and is staffed in part by Westminster School teachers.
There are two components of ASCP: 1) a full-time program, which takes place Monday-Friday on every full day of school; and 2) a drop-in program (on a daily, as-needed basis). For both full-time and drop-in after-school care, the hours of program operation are 3:15-6:00 p.m. (with a grace period until 6:15 p.m.). There is no after-school care on half-days, holidays, or when school is canceled or dismissed early due to inclement weather.
ASCP Mission: To provide a safe, enjoyable program of on-site, after-school care which will be a fun, wholesome break from the school-day routine while also supporting the structure of the Westminster program.
The same general schedule is followed each afternoon:
3:15 – 3:25 Attendance, Welcome, and Restroom Break
3:25 – 3:45 Snack and Clean-Up (Pre-K-2nd)
3:45 – 4:05 Snack and Clean-Up (3rd-8th Grade)
4:05 – 6:00 Homework (3rd-8th Grade)
3:45 – 4:15 Outdoor Play / Indoor Play / Arts & Crafts (Pre-K-2nd)
4:15 – 6:00 Indoor Play / Arts & Crafts / Additional Homework Time
Enrollment: After-school care is available only to students who are registered for the program. Registration forms are available from the main school office and are included in the back-to-school packet sent to parents prior to fall opening. Tuition for the ASCP and fees for the Drop-In ASCP are set annually. Students may be collected by the parent/guardian (or other persons designated on the registration form) at any time during the After-School Care Program. The sign-out log maintained by the ASCP staff must be signed each day before the child will be released. Students are to be picked up by 6:00 p.m. each day.*
