Since its founding in 1962 by the visionary Jane Goll, Westminster School has evolved steadily and grown to become the model of excellence it is today. Among comparable independent schools in the area, Westminster provides a superior elementary program (K-8) for the lowest tuition, but tuition revenues alone are not enough to cover the school’s day-to-day needs, or to fund plans for the future.
Under the stewardship of the current headmaster, Ellis Glover, Westminster School remains true to its mission and focused on its vision for the future. While providing a classical education for the 21st century, the requirements of the school community directly impact plans for the future. The school’s most immediate need and highest priority is a new athletic field. Administrative office space and expanded facilities for after-school care are also needed. With the opening of a pre-school planned for the fall of 2010, the vision for the future is already taking shape.
The “Westminster Way” continues to be upheld in large measure due to the generosity and dedication of the school’s extended community. We are grateful to all – current families, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, trustees, faculty and staff, matching gift companies, and friends – for their financial support and for the gifts of time, energy and talent, which are so vital to the school.
As the school’s 50th anniversary approaches, the tradition of generosity fundamental to the school will be of utmost importance. Please help Westminster School achieve its vision for the future.
