Summer Program

For enrolled students only, Westminster School offers a variety of academic and enrichment programs during the summer. A brochure is published in early spring which includes course content descriptions, dates and times, fees, and registration forms.

Grade-level courses in language arts, math, and French are offered to students who could benefit from an in-depth review of a completed course in preparation for the upcoming grade. These classes are also designed to help newly admitted students catch up with Westminster’s accelerated curriculum before joining their classmates in the fall.

Students are also offered an array of enrichment classes and camps led by Westminster staff members. Many of these have become traditions; others are offered based on the availability and enthusiasm of individual teachers. A list of typical summer enrichment programs is given below:

• Summer Fun Camp (grades 3 – 8).
• Junior Summer Fun Camp ( grades 1 and 2).
• Griffin Basketball Camp (grades 5 – 8).
• Writing Workshop (grades 4 – 6)
• Computer Wizardry (grades 3 – 8)
• Science Blast (grades 3 - 8)
  
• Art Camp (grades 3 – 8)
• Basic French Cooking (grades 5 – 8)
• Classic Cinema (grades 3 - 8)

Descriptions of the camps and a full listing of the offered courses are available in the 2008 Summer School Brochure.  The school is now accepting summer school and fun camp registration forms and deposits.  All payments and forms must be received by June 9, 2008.
