After-School Care Program

An on-site, after-school care program is offered to families with children in grades K-8. The hours of program operation are 3:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, on every full day of school. There is no after-school care on half-days, holidays, or when school is canceled or dismissed early due to inclement weather or emergency response.

ASCP Mission: To provide a safe, enjoyable program of on-site, after-school care which will be a fun, wholesome break from the school-day routine while also supporting the structure of the Westminster program.

Procedures/Schedule

At the end of each academic day, their homeroom teachers escort/direct the students to the ASCP quarters where they are welcomed by the ASCP staff. The same general schedule is followed each afternoon:

• 2:50 - 3:00 - Welcome & Restroom Break
• 3:00 - 3:15 - Transition Activity
• 3:15 - 3:30 - Transition activity or Snack
• 3:30 - 4:30 - Homework/Snack/Arts & Crafts
• 4:30 - 5:45 - Outdoor Play/Indoor Play/Arts & Crafts
• (5:00 - 5:45) - Additional homework time if desired

Students may be collected by the parent (or other persons designated on the registration form) at any time during the After-School Care Program. The sign-out log maintained by the ASCP staff must be signed each day before the child will be released. Students are to be picked up by 5:45 p.m. each day.*

Enrollment

After-school care is available only to students who are registered for the program. No “drop-ins” are accepted. The cost of the program is $3,760.00 per student/per year, September-June, payable in quarterly increments of $940.00. Sibling discounts are not offered. Enrollment in the After-School Care Program is limited to 50 students, on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional forms are available in the school office.

* A late fee is charged for pick-ups later than 6:00 p.m.
