Kindergarten

  • 1 fabric pencil case with a zipper  Size:  3/8X6.9X9.6

First Grade

  • 1 fabric pencil case with 2 zippers and mesh front pocket  Size: 3/8X6.9X9.6
  • 1 box (12) Dixon Ticonderoga No. 2 yellow pencils
  • 1 box (12) Dixon Ticonderoga red checking pencils
  • 1 pair of children’s plastic scissors
  • 1 large eraser
  • 2 large Avery 1.27 oz glue sticks
  • 1 package, 24 count, classic colors crayons.  Crayons should be removed from the box and placed in a plastic Ziploc bag
  • 1 hard plastic folder with pockets and 3 prongs inside (labeled Writing Folder, include child’s first and last name)

  • 3 pocket folders (labeled  Homework, French, Music)

Second Grade

  • 1 box (12) Dixon Ticonderoga No. 2 yellow pencils (no mechanical pencils)
  • 1 package, 24 count, classic colors crayons.  Crayons should be removed from the box and placed in a plastic Ziploc bag
  • 1 box (12) Dixon Ticonderoga red checking pencils
  • 1 large eraser
  • 1 highlighter
  • 3 large Avery 1.27 oz glue sticks
  • One 3-ring binder (2”-3”) (fabric covered, with zippers are the most durable and secure). Please avoid binders with shoulder straps, as they are a tripping hazard.
  • 12 dividers for subjects (full pages with tabs; plastic ones will last the longest), to be labeled and placed in the following order:  Notes To Go Home, General Information, Paper, Handwriting, Spelling, Reading, English, History, Math, Science, Map Skills, French
  • 1 set of 3” x 5” index cards (lined on one side), wrapped in a rubber-band and kept in a Ziploc bag
  • Small package of tissues (to be replaced as needed)
  • Three separate pocket folders labeled:  Music, Extra Paper, Homeroom
  • Three composition notebooks (not spiral) labeled: Language Arts Journal, French, Math/Science Journal
  • Wide-ruled notebook paper (not college-ruled)
  • Addition and subtraction flashcards:  facts 1-12 and 13-18, to be kept at home for math practice
  • Multiplication and division flashcards 0-12 (can be purchased through the school for use this fall) (to be kept at home for math practice)
  • White tennis shoes
  • School ditty bag (available for purchase from the Athletic Department)

NOTE:  Backpacks with wheels are not permitted due to limited storage space and safety reasons.  Please replace supplies as needed.  Supplies not listed will be provided by the school.


Third-Eighth Grade

All students in grades 3-8 need the following supplies.  For additional supplies needed for each particular grade, please see below.

  • 1 three ring binder (3”) (“D Ring” and “locking system” binders are more durable and secure than others.)
  • Dividers (Dividers should be complete pieces of paper with the tabs attached - not tabs alone.) 
  • 1 pencil holder (to be placed in 3-ring binder)
  • 1 package tissues (placed inside the pencil holder)
  • 4 sharpened pencils (placed inside the pencil holder)
  • Wide-ruled notebook paper
  • Backpack (Must fit neatly in locker.  Locker dimensions:  9” wide, 10 ½” deep)
    NOTES ABOUT BACKPACKS:  
    A collapsible bag is better than a rigid one.  One that is carried on the shoulders is more efficient.  Wheeled backpacks are permitted as long as they fit in the locker.
  • P.E. CLOTHING – Sweats and extra shorts, shirts, and socks are available for purchase from the Athletic Department. (Please make checks payable to Westminster School.)

 

ASSIGNMENT NOTEBOOKS are provided by Westminster School and will be issued on the first day of school. (There will be a fee for replacement copies.)

 

IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO PURCHASE “LOCKER MATES” -- AN ADDITIONAL SHELF IS PROVIDED IN EACH LOCKER
