About Westminster School

Westminster is an independent, coeducational day school located in Annandale, Virginia, which serves approximately 300 students in grades K-8. Westminster is a non-profit institution and holds no affiliation with any religious organization. Governance is by a Board of Trustees, with management of the school vested in the Headmaster, assisted by a small administrative staff.

Westminster School provides a strong foundation in the history, literature, art, and ideas of Western Civilization, lending exceptional depth and resonance to a student’s knowledge and understanding. Wide exposure to classic literature and an emphasis on writing skills prepare students for a rich life as well as ongoing academic success. Westminster students are shown how to achieve excellence by a team of experts. A close partnership between parents, teachers, and school administrators protects and guides children toward excellence of character, high academic achievement, and fulfillment of individual potential.
