Admissions Calendar

Open House Schedule and Admissions Calendar

Applications for the current school year will be considered in grades where there are openings.

September 2009 through August 2010: Tours of the school are available by appointment. Please contact the Admissions Director, Mrs. Nancy Schuler, at 703-256-3620 or admissions@westminsterschool.com.

October 14, 2009: Wine and Cheese with the Headmaster (7:00–9:00 p.m.) This event is for adults only. An opportunity to hear about the Westminster program directly from the Headmaster, Mr. Ellis Glover, who is in his 34th year of service to Westminster School. A presentation will be made by Mr. Glover at 7:15 p.m. This will be followed by a wine and cheese reception with Mr. Glover, other members of the administrative staff, as well as teachers. Tours of the school will be conducted.

November 1, 2009: Applications begin to be accepted for the 2010–2011 school year.

November 13, 2009: Parent Open House (9:30–11:00 a.m.) Tours of the school will be conducted from 9:30–10:15 a.m. The Headmaster, Mr. Ellis Glover, who is in his 34th year of service to Westminster School, will give a presentation from 10:15–11:00 a.m. Additional tours will be conducted following the presentation.

January through February 2010: Testing, classroom visits and interviews take place. Testing of prospective students takes place on campus, by appointment with the Admissions Office. The SSAT or ISEE is also acceptable for students applying to grades 5–7. (Westminster School does not consider applicants for 8th grade.)

January 10, 2010: OPEN HOUSE for Prospective Families (2:00–4:00 p.m.) A wonderful opportunity to meet current students, parents, and staff. Tour the school and learn more about the Westminster program. Children are welcome.

February 28, 2010: All transcripts and teacher recommendations are due to the Admissions Office for the first round of applicants. All testing and visits of prospective students must be completed.

March 2010: Notification letters are sent to the first round of applicants.

  • Parents notify Westminster School of their decision by signing the Enrollment Contract and paying the Enrollment Deposit.
  • Applications continue to be accepted for grades with availability.

April 30, 2010: Enrollment Contract is binding and first tuition payment is due.

March through August 2010: Applications received during this time will be considered for grades where there are openings and will be processed within two weeks of completing the application process. Some grades will have openings while others may have a wait list. Please contact the Admissions Office for information regarding availability in a particular grade.
